Talk trash,
not RAM.

LightVC is a voice + text chat app for gamers on low-end rigs. It sits in your tray at about 53 MB. Discord sits at six hundred. Leave it open all night and never feel it.

Everything you actually use

Full-featured. Still weighs nothing.

Not a stripped-down toy — the stuff you reach for on a raid night, minus the bloat, the ads, and the launcher that eats a gigabyte before you say a word.

Crystal-clear P2P voice

Opus audio flows straight between you and your friends over encrypted WebRTC. The server only introduces you — it never touches your audio.

Push-to-talk

Hold to speak, release for silence. No open-mic keyboard clatter, no breathing into the void mid-clutch.

Global mute & deafen

Cut your mic or drop all incoming audio without alt-tabbing. The hotkeys fire even when LightVC isn't the focused window.

PgDn mute PgUp deafen

Text chat with history

Drop links, callouts, and coordinates in the room. Messages stick around, so whoever joins late can scroll back and catch up.

Image & file sharing

Paste a screenshot of that impossible boss, or send a config straight into chat — up to 50 MB a file. Thumbnails show inline; click to open full-size.

Screen sharing

Show your run, your build, or the bug you swear isn't your fault. One click opens a share right in your browser, tied to the same room.

Where the megabytes went (nowhere)

Native code. Your audio never touches a server.

LightVC is written in Go and draws its own window — no Chromium, no Electron, no 300 MB of browser stuffed inside a chat app. That's why it starts instantly and sips memory.

  • Peer-to-peer & encrypted. Voice runs directly between friends over SRTP. The signaling server only trades the handshake — it can't hear you.
  • No account, no tracking. Your group joins with one shared invite secret. That's the whole login — nothing to sign up for.
  • Runs on a potato. Old laptop, budget build, streaming rig already maxed — LightVC leaves the headroom for the game.
Getting started · about 30 seconds

Three steps. No installer, no account.

STEP 01

Download

Grab the launcher — a small zip. No sign-up, no email wall.

STEP 02

Unzip

Right-click the zip and Extract All into any folder you like. It's fully self-contained.

STEP 03

Run LightVC.exe

Double-click it, enter your name and your group's invite secret, and you're in. It keeps itself updated from here.

Get your RAM back.

Free, tiny, and native to Windows. Your low-end rig — and your framerate — will thank you.
